While our world continues to be a tumultuous, unpredictable, heartbreaking trial by fire, it has been very reassuring to see all of the creativity happening in my music community. June 4th was the final day for composers to submit their take on Westworld for Spitfire Audio’s scoring competition and from what I’ve seen and heard so far, it’s going to be very hard to pick a winner. I was hesitant to even attempt something like this because there is so much talent out there already. Then I discovered that HBO will also be making a donation on behalf of the winner to help fight the spread of COVID-19, so in addition to the platform (and the prize, of course), composers actually have a chance to make the world a better place with this competition. That news motivated me to throw my hat in the ring, so here’s my contribution. I hope you enjoy it much as I enjoyed creating it. Thank you Spitfire Audio and HBO for giving us this opportunity.
