The rise of THE HEAVY MUSIC COLLECTIVE!

When I first started working in the music business, my goal was to learn as much as possible about contracts, copyright, licensing, royalties, and anything else that could help my bands. Decades later, I’ve expanded my mission to help ALL bands, composers, and songwriters get the money that they are owed. While it has always been tough to be a musician (especially playing any sort of ORIGINAL music), the current climate is even more hostile to composers and songwriters than ever, as so much of their money is disappearing before they even know it exists. On top of that, touring has become prohibitively expensive and even dangerous for bands with limited resources.

I have no idea what my adult life (nevermind my career) would look like without the hard rock, heavy metal, industrial and hardcore bands that made me want to conquer the world, and these genres are among the hardest hit by the skyrocketing costs of keeping a creative music enterprise going and the rapidly-changing landscape of music rights and media consumption.

So what am I doing about it? Well, after meeting Ben Koller, both Jeff Price and myself decided that we had to build something that could help bands get more of their money and learn where the traps are hidden. Word Collections has created a new division called The Heavy Music Collective, and the word is starting to spread. With direct licensing deals in place with Amazon, Apple, Spotify, YouTube, Deezer, and Tidal for the world, we are positioned to help composers and songwriters get more of their money both in the US and around the World.

It has been trippy to see my name mentioned in press outlets that I’ve followed for so many years, including Metal Injection, Lambgoat, The PRP, Metal Sucks, Metal Insider, and more. The best part is that we’re just getting started. Check out the FAQ section to learn more about what we do and how we can help you get your money before it gets taken away forever.
